Psycho-diagnostic assessments

At my practice, I offer psychodiagnostic assessments under the supervision of Dr. Francois Botha.

This type of assessment can be beneficial in providing individuals with a comprehensive understanding of themselves, helping them ascertain if they qualify for a mental health diagnosis, aiding their therapist in creating a personalized treatment plan, and supporting them in obtaining accommodations at work or school.

What is a psychodiagnostic assessment?

When conducting psychodiagnostic assessments, the goal is to determine whether the evaluated individual may be facing a mental health condition and, if so, which treatment strategies might be the most successful. In other words, you can expect this type of assessment to answer the question:

“What mental health conditions might be present (if any) and which treatment strategies would be most beneficial?”

Assessments are a crucial tool in understanding an individual's mental health and cognitive functioning. They provide valuable insights that can guide treatment plans, educational accommodations, and support services. By identifying strengths and weaknesses, assessments help in creating a personalized approach to improve overall well-being and functioning.

Expertise in conducting leading assessments

Dr. Christopher Brown holds a PsyD from Adler University and conducts the assessments under the supervision of Dr. Francois Botha, a registered psychologist.

He has experience assessing and diagnosing a range of mental health conditions.

The assessment process

The assessment process typically begins with an initial consultation, where Dr. Christopher Brown will gather background information and understand your concerns.

This is followed by a series of standardized tests and interviews to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning.

After the testing phase, a comprehensive report is prepared, detailing the findings and providing recommendations for treatment or intervention.

Finally, a feedback session is conducted to discuss the results and next steps.

Follow-Up Steps After the Assessment

After the assessment, a feedback session is scheduled where Dr. Christopher Brown will discuss the results in detail.

This session includes reviewing the comprehensive report, which outlines the findings and provides tailored recommendations. Based on the results, a personalized treatment or intervention may be developed.

Dr. Brown will also provide guidance on the next steps, whether it involves therapy, educational support, or other resources.
